Loch Tummel Caravan Park, Ardgualich Farm, Pitlochry

This lovely campsite has a few static caravans and a lower field right on the shores of Loch Tummel for tents. The terrain is sheltered and overlooks a small harbour where boats can be hired for fishing and pootling about on the loch. The owner was very warm and relaxed, you can pitch where you like and barbecues are allowed. It was a bargain £14 for a car and 2 x 2 man tents for the night.

It’s about a 20 minute drive along the B8019 from Pitlochry and there’s a bus service that runs a few times a day if you don’t have a car. Pitlochry is connected by direct trains to Glasgow, Edinburgh and London. The surrounding hills and lochs make for a stunning setting. The town is a hub for outdoor enthusiasts and there are plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling, fishing, sailing and more.
